Pune: Dipali Barguje, an international-level cycling coach from Pune, has been selected for the prestigious 'Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Level 2 Coaching Course' scheduled to be held in South Korea from June 29 to July 13. Her selection from India for this course-which admits only a select group of coaches from around the world-is a matter of pride for the nation.
Dipali Barguje delivered outstanding performances as a cyclist at both national and international levels between 2007 and 2017 and was honored with the Maharashtra government's 'Shivchhatrapati State Sports Award' in 2014. She began her coaching career in 2017 and completed the 'NIS' coaching diploma. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Cycling Coach at the 'Khelo India State Centre of Excellence' located at the Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi. Additionally, she has shouldered the responsibility of Chief Commissaire (Head Referee) for the 'Pune Grand Tour' cycling competition.
The course in South Korea will provide training in modern coaching methodologies, sports science, and state-of-the-art cycling technology. She has received congratulations and best wishes for her selection from Adv. Vikram Rothe (President, Cycling Association of Maharashtra), Pravin Patil (CEO, Cycling Federation of India), Prof. Sanjay Sathe (Secretary), and coach Dipali Patil (Jijamata Award recipient), among others.
